Forrester’s Surry Hills

The Story

Since it’s establishment in 1921, Forrester’s has been an iconic local pub proudly serving the Surry Hills neighbourhood for almost 100 years. The pub was snapped up by Applejack Hospitality in November 2020 with the vision to deliver a community-centric watering hole with an Applejack twist!

Forrester’s is a multidimensional pub staying true to its roots as a casual local with something for all. The recent renovation has drawn inspiration from the building’s century-old history and original “bones”, incorporating classic touches such as a timeless colour palette and natural timbers. With three spaces tied together by Applejack’s welcoming interiors and high-variety dining experiences, there is something for everyone!

From the Kitchen

Our Menu

In collaboration with Head Chef Laura Tello and Butler Head Chef Amber Doig, our menu is designed as an elevated take on classic Australian pub food.

An eclectic selection of tap beers are on offer in the Public Bar, featuring iconic Aussie brews alongside a solid independent craft offering. On the wine side, you’ll find an all Australian line up curated by Group Bars Manager Lachy Sturrock and somm Dan Simmons, focusing on growers and producers within our own borders who focus on sustainable, organic farming – wines with place and purpose.
